Leading with Love
What servant leadership looks like inside the walls of your home.
The greatest among you shall be your servant. — Matthew 23:11
Leadership in marriage is not about authority — it is about service. The man who leads well is the man who kneels down to pick up what fell, who asks before assuming, who protects the emotional safety of his home as fiercely as he would protect it from any physical threat.
The Pressure Men Carry
There is a weight that many men carry quietly. The pressure to provide. To protect. To have the answers. This weight, when carried alone, becomes a burden. When shared with your partner, it becomes a bond.
The strongest leaders in Scripture were men who knew how to humble themselves. David danced before the Lord without caring who saw. Jesus washed feet. Moses led a nation while admitting he needed help speaking.
What Does This Look Like Today?
It looks like coming home and asking about her day before talking about yours.
It looks like taking the late-night shift with the baby without being asked.
It looks like saying "I was wrong" with no qualifications attached.
These are not signs of weakness. They are the marks of a man who understands what strength is really for.
A Challenge
This week, find one area where you have been leading from ego rather than love. Name it. Then ask your partner how they experience leadership in your home. Listen without defending. That conversation alone can shift everything.
